Fuel Hike: Buhari’s Shock Indicates Nigeria’s Auto-Pilot State – Seyi Oyetunbi| GOVERNMEND
Governance And Politics

Nigerians woke up to the news of fuel hike on Friday, 12th March; which left millions dismayed. The news broke out after PPPR updated its platform to sell fuel at a a ridiculous amount of N212 despite the obvious economic hardship. Many citizens didn’t waste time before taking to Twitter, Facebook and others social media to express how they’ve lost hope in Buhari’s “directionless” administration while many more have started finding a way to organise, mobilse for resistance. While some still couldn’t believe the news of the fuel increment flying around.
Amidst this sheer confusion, President Buhari who doubles as the petroleum minister came out of shell like a snail in the rain to say he wasn’t aware of the hike. He however ordered the reversal immediately.
But, to think a president can be ignorant of such crucial issue is almost impossible. How’s that even possible as a president, before thinking its possibility as a man who presides over the petroleum ministry that’s directly affected?
The President’s shock over the hike under his nose just shows he is up doing nothing. Little wonder why there’s a scary degree of insecurity, poverty, out of school kids, infrastructural decay to mention few. President Muhammadu Buhari is evidently a costly disaster.
For how long will the president continue to be shocked about things he should ideally preside over? It’s not tough to understand why nothing is working in Nigeria because her president is a mannequin.
