Politics and Governance: Pantami: A Minister Without The People’s Trust | GOVERNMEND
The Honourable Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Mr. Isa Pantami has been having a really rough time since a US source disclosed that he has been on watch list over link with some terrorist groups like Al qaeda and ISIS. That became the genesis of various analysis of how religion has had the best part of the troubled Minister.
I feel that, the government should launch an independent investigation on the link the Minister has with terrorist groups and his explosive commentaries on religion and ethnicity.
It’s absolutely correct if Nigerians are demanding for his resignation – Nigerians no longer feel safe with the Minister and the office he occupies. Security is pertinent. We can’t continue to harbour a man on US watch-list of terrorism in our national leadership space. Especially, at a time like this when insecurity is on the high side. Honourable Pantami should take his time to explain himself to the people, accept responsibilities and perhaps bow out.
People have lost trust and interest in keeping Pantamin, he would probably be doing us no good being a Minister at this time. Until investigation proves otherwise, we cannot leave our data with a man who’s alleged to be robbing shoulders with terrorists.
