Gruesome Murder of OAU Master Student: Adedoyin May Abort Justice | GOVERNMEND

Activities at the Hilton Hotel in Ile-Ife, Osun State, were on Thursday grounded to a halt as the relaxation centre is now shut down following the death of a Master’s student at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Timothy Adegoke.
The hotel has been completely deserted by its workers, as of the time of filing in this report and all activities that usually take place there have been paralyzed.
It is unclear who gave the directive that the hotel should be shut down, but the security guard there just told Tribune Online that “It has been closed down until further notice.”
Meanwhile, students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife are said to be warming up to storm the hotel in protest of the death linked directly to the owner of the hotel who is fond of saying “the rich will always find a way in Nigeria.”
One of the students who simply identified himself as Adeoti said, “The matter should not be allowed to be swept under the carpet by the concerned authorities.”
He further affirmed that students will go all the way to ensure justice prevails in the case.
It will be recalled that the chairman of Hilton Hotel and Resort, Dr Ramon Adedoyin was on Wednesday arrested by the Osun State Police Command in connection with the death of the student.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode, who disclosed this through the command’s spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, said that Adedoyin was arrested on November 15, 2021.
According to the police boss, the suspect is currently in police detention, undergoing interrogation in connection with the case while awaiting the autopsy report from the hospital.
He however thanked members of the public, especially the bereaved family, students, and management of OAU for their patience to allow the police to continue on a thorough investigation on the matter.
He further reiterated the commitment of the state police command to ensure justice is done and assured that, no matter the personality of the person involved in the case or how highly or lowly placed in the society if found culpable would be brought to justice.
He assured that updates on the case will be made public as the event unfolds.
