The former YPP governorship candidate in Osun State, Dr. Bayonle, popularly called DAB has condemned the harsh decision of the past president, General Muhammadu Buhari to bid subsidy removal a farewell and the sustenance of the policy by the new president, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu without any form of palliative to cushion the effects on the citizens or any kind of reasonable infrastructure like a good and cheap transport system to ease the hardship people have to bear. He said this on GovernMEND’s twitter space with Hammed Ajiroba as a co-speaker during state of the nation series.
The young successful medical doctor and a politician considered progressive in thought mentioned that the only thing he thinks the poor enjoy in Nigeria is the subsidy on fuel, now that they’ve removed the subsidy, due to corruption, what’s the fate of a common Nigerian? Bayonle asked angrily.
He noted that policies are not made that way in a working society and one positioned to work. President Muhammadu Buhari had alot of time to work around providing palliative that would cushion hard time from the subsidy removal, he probably just decided to be insensitive to the need of poor Nigerians.
“I also see clearly that there’s no synergy between the past and the current administration despite the fact that it’s still the same party. I do not think Tinubu enjoys what should be continuity but he is not speaking to have things easy administratively ” Bayonle noted.
