Political Smackdown in Ondo: APC and PDP Trade Accusatory Jabs
In a classic case of political finger-pointing, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State are locking horns, each accusing the other of a devious plan to sow discord in the peaceful capital city of Akure.
The APC boldly alleges that it has unearthed a nefarious scheme by the PDP to stir up trouble. According to them, this manoeuvre is nothing short of a grand performance aimed at creating political instability and tarnishing the ruling party’s image, just in time for the upcoming governorship election next year.
In a statement released by the APC Ondo State Chapter, they claim that certain PDP bigwigs have been making hefty contributions, in cahoots with some players within their own ranks, to plunge the Sunshine State into chaos. Quite the allegation.
The supposedly peaceful state has enjoyed enviable stability, they say, and it’s rather astounding that the opposition party, currently grappling with leadership woes in Abuja, would cosy up to some aspects within the APC for the sole purpose of stirring the pot in Ondo.
In a hastily called emergency meeting, the APC vehemently condemned these alleged plots, arguing that their Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has been doing his job efficiently, even while being away on medical leave. They reassure the public that he will be back soon, though they conveniently forget to mention when exactly.
The party also issued a stern warning, suggesting that any political gatherings or activities at this time could easily spiral out of control. They call on security agencies to keep a watchful eye and ensure everything is closely monitored.

However, the PDP fires back with a dose of sarcasm, questioning the conspicuous absence of the state governor since his return from a three-month medical trip to Germany. They label the APC members as “shameless people” and accuse them of turning a blind eye to the “total collapse of governance” in the state.
In a rather theatrical twist, they ask the million-dollar question: “If they know where Akeredolu is, they should ask him to come out or resign honourably.” It’s clear that the blame game is in full swing, and the stage is set for some dramatic political theatre in Ondo.
