In a swift and decisive move, President Bola Tinubu has given the nod to eight new Chief Executive Officers for key parastatals and agencies under the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.

These appointments, effective immediately, are set to bring fresh perspectives and ideas to these vital sectors.

The affected organizations include the National Orientation Agency (NOA), the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), the Voice of Nigeria (VON), the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), and the Nigerian Press Council.

These appointments come on the heels of a hush-hush meeting between the President and the Information Minister, Mohammed Idris, held at the State House in Abuja just a day prior.

In a statement released by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the new appointees have been unveiled. They bring with them a wealth of experience and vision to steer these agencies into a new era of service.

Mr. Lanre Issa-Onilu takes the reins as the Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), while Mr. Salihu Dembos retains his office as DG of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Dr. Muhammed Bulama is now the DG of FRCN, succeeding Dr. Mansir Liman.

Mr. Charles Ebuebu steps in as the Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), replacing Balarabe Illelah, and Mr. Jibrin Ndace is the new DG of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), succeeding Osita Okechukwu.

In addition to these appointments, President Tinubu has named Dr. Lekan Fadolapo as the Director-General of ARCON, Mr. Ali Ali as DG of NAN, and Mr. Dili Ezughah as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Press Council.

These new leaders are charged with the task of sparking innovation and creating fresh opportunities for Nigerians.

They will work to revamp and reform these crucial government institutions that serve as pillars to unify the nation, reshape mindsets, and exhibit the country’s rich diversity and culture to the rest of the world.

The winds of change are blowing through the information and national orientation sectors, and these newly appointed CEOs hold the compass to navigate uncharted waters.
