Ogun State Police Crack Down on Misbehaving Officers in Extortion Scandal

Ogun State’s police department had a recent run-in with a case of officers behaving badly. Three inspectors were caught on camera in the act of “flagrantly extorting money from commercial motorcyclists.” It all went down on October 19 at the Maawu Bus Stop in the Agbado area of the state.
The not-so-upstanding officers were identified as Inspectors Ikhanorba Lucky, Paul Sunday, and Edwin Ekeogu.
These guys were captured on camera committing a clear violation of the Police Act and Regulations. And as if that wasn’t enough, the evidence of their inappropriate actions was promptly shared across social media.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Abiodun Alamutu, didn’t take this lightly. He came down hard on the unprofessional behaviour exhibited by these three individuals.
To address this blatant misconduct, the police department initiated the appropriate disciplinary measures. This move is all about making sure these officers are held accountable for their misdeeds and, of course, sending a strong message to any others who might be considering walking down a similarly ignoble path.
