The Senate has approved the appointment of Mr. Musa Aliyu as the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practises and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), a nominee selected by President Bola Tinubu.

Additionally, the Senate has confirmed the appointments of Prof. Gaji Dantata and Saka Suleiman as members of the Federal Judicial Service Commission, representing Kano and Kwara States, respectively.

These appointments were screened and confirmed during a hearing by the Committee of the Whole Senate.

Musa Aliyu, who is currently the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice in Jigawa State, discussed his extensive legal background and commitment to implementing judicial reforms.

If confirmed, he pledged to lead by example and conduct proper investigations and prosecutions in the fight against corruption, all while respecting the rights of Nigerians.

Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, presiding over the session, urged the newly confirmed public officers to consider their appointments as a call to service, asking them to discharge their duties with the fear of God and not to betray the trust placed in them by President Bola Tinubu.
