Ogun State Commits to Empowering Citizens with ICT to Curb Brain Drain

The Ogun State Government has emphasised its commitment to harnessing Information Communication Technology (ICT) to empower its citizens, reduce brain drain, and encourage self-employment.
This commitment was reaffirmed by Dayo Abiodun, Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, following the state’s recognition as the 2nd runner-up for the “Most Digitally Compliant State” at the 2023 Digital Nigeria Award Dinner held in Abuja.
Abiodun highlighted the government’s dedication to enhancing the digital knowledge of individuals in areas like cyber security, data analysis, and web design, ensuring they remain relevant in the evolving world of technology.
The government is actively supporting various training programmes aimed at equipping its residents, particularly the youth, with valuable digital skills.
He encouraged interested individuals to enrol in the ongoing 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) training programme organised by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
This initiative aims to help Nigerians acquire valuable digital skills that can make them self-reliant and enable them to earn income locally while contributing to the growth of the digital economy.
By focusing on digital initiatives and skills development, the Ogun State Government hopes to create a workforce that is well-equipped to meet the demands of the ever-evolving digital landscape and reduce the trend of brain drain, where citizens seek employment opportunities abroad.
