Governor Yahaya Bello Congratulates Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan on Appeal Court Victory
Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has accepted the decision of the Appeal Court affirming Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as the duly elected candidate for Kogi Central Senatorial District.
GYB, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), extended his congratulations to Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and all participants in the democratic process.
The Court of Appeal in Abuja upheld Akpoti-Uduaghan’s candidature for the Kogi Central Senatorial Election, which took place in February.
The court dismissed the appeal filed by Abubakar Ohere, stating that it lacked merit.
In September, the Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal nullified the victory of Ohere from the APC in the Kogi Central Senatorial Election and declared Akpoti-Uduaghan as the rightful winner.
The recent decision by the Appeal Court confirms Akpoti-Uduaghan’s victory and settles the matter regarding the senatorial election in Kogi Central.
