The Lagos State Government has announced the diversion of traffic between Costain and Alaka descent due to emergency repairs on some parts of the Eko Bridge.

The repairs aim to prevent further damage and theft of expansion joints, and replace missing parts, including recasting the transition concrete around the expansion joint.

The affected section of the bridge will be closed to traffic from 8 am on Saturday, November 4, and is expected to reopen at 4 am on Monday, November 6, 2023.

Motorists are advised to use the Costain Ramp to access Alaka via the Costain Roundabout during this period.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, assured that the bridge will reopen as planned, and traffic and security personnel will be deployed to the construction zones and alternative routes to ensure a smooth flow of traffic and public safety during the repair work.
