Eromosele Promises to Prioritize People, Environment, and Resources in Edo

Prof. Sunny Eromosele, a governorship aspirant for the 2024 Edo State election, running on the Labour Party (LP) platform, has vowed to address the state’s dire situation with people-oriented policies.

He described the state’s conditions as alarming, citing poverty, hardship, and a high dependency ratio.

Eromosele expressed concern about human trafficking, highlighting that Edo State has the highest number of trafficked persons, with many Nigerian sex workers in Europe originating from the state.

He discussed these issues during the Edo Policy Round Table in Benin City, which focused on “Contemporary Nigeria Politics: The Way Forward for Edo.”

At the event, Eromosele praised Dr. Julius Abure, the national chairman of the Labour Party, for his contributions to national growth.

He emphasized the need to address Edo’s socioeconomic challenges, including rising debt, unemployment, a deteriorating exchange rate, and poor infrastructure.

Eromosele called for collective efforts to reverse the state’s economic woes and vowed to prioritize people, the environment, and resources through well-defined policies and strong implementation plans.

He introduced his ‘Move Against Poverty’ (MAP) program, with the goal of restoring, increasing, securing, and empowering Edo.

Eromosele’s leadership, if elected, will focus on building a prosperous and equitable society in Edo, addressing the challenges facing the state, and fostering collective efforts for positive change.

The national chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, also stressed the need for the people of Edo to elect the right governor in the September 2, 2024, gubernatorial election, emphasizing qualities such as selflessness, risk-taking, and the ability to bring various groups together for the state’s development.

He noted the importance of innovative ideas and resource harnessing for the state’s benefit.
