Murtala Ajaka Alleges Threat to Life and Accuses Governor Yahaya Bello of Forcing Successor in Kogi Election

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate for the November 11, 2023, election in Kogi State, Murtala Ajaka, has accused Governor Yahaya Bello of attempting to impose a successor on the state.
Ajaka made these claims during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme.
He also alleged threats to his life in Dekina Local Government Area of the state, stating that unknown individuals had attempted to assassinate him early that morning.
Ajaka emphasised that the people of Kogi State desire change and that the upcoming election on November 11 will reveal the popular choice.
He did not reveal his specific strategy for winning the election but challenged Governor Bello and his supporters to stop attacking the people of Kogi State.
The Kogi State governorship election features several prominent contenders, including Leke Abejide of the African Democratic Party (APC), Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
