Court of Appeal Affirms Peter Mbah’s Victory as Enugu State Governor

The Court of Appeal in Lagos has delivered a decisive ruling, upholding the election victory of Peter Mbah as the governor of Enugu State.
In a unanimous decision, the three-member court dismissed the claims presented by the Labour Party (LP) and its governorship candidate, challenging Mr. Mbah’s qualifications and raising concerns about over-voting in the election.
The court concluded that the petitioners failed to provide sufficient evidence to substantiate their claims.
This affirmatory judgement aligns with the earlier decision of the election tribunal, which had upheld the declaration of Peter Mbah as the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Governor Mbah expressed his appreciation for the judiciary’s decision, emphasising the significance of the court’s role as the last hope of the common man.
He pledged to channel more energy and commitment towards bringing development to Enugu State.
The governor outlined key focus areas for his administration, including ensuring a continuous water supply to Enugu homes, initiating extensive road construction projects, and establishing Smart Schools across the state.
He assured the people of Enugu that his government would work tirelessly to fulfil the promises made during the election campaign.
The governor concluded by expressing profound gratitude to the residents of Enugu for their unwavering support and trust in his leadership.
