INEC Bayelsa Adjourns Results Announcement as Brass and Southern Ijaw LGAs Await Final Tally

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Bayelsa State has postponed the announcement of results for the remaining two local government areas—Brass and Southern Ijaw LGAs.

The adjournment, announced by Mr. Wilfred Ifogah, Head of the Department of Voter Education and Publicity for INEC Bayelsa, came after reconvening the session at 7 pm on Sunday.

The delay was attributed to challenges encountered in the collation of results from some units and wards in these two local government areas.

As of the latest update, results for six out of the eight local government areas had been announced, with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) securing victory in five, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) claimed one.

The final results for Brass and Southern Ijaw LGAs are eagerly awaited, shaping the overall outcome of the gubernatorial election in Bayelsa State. Stay tuned for the much-anticipated results on Monday at noon.
