Shettima Emphasises President Tinubu’s PPP Approach to Tackle Infrastructure Gap

Vice President Kashim Shettima has reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to addressing the infrastructure gap in Nigeria through Public-Private Partnership (PPP).

Speaking at the public presentation of two books by Malam Yusuf Ali, Shettima highlighted the need for private sector participation in infrastructure development, citing the alarming infrastructure gap in the country.

He emphasised the importance of PPP to deliver infrastructure and mentioned the establishment of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission at the federal level.

Shettima acknowledged Tinubu’s experience in brokering public-private partnerships, referencing the former Lagos State governor’s legacy in transforming the state.

He noted that Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda prioritizes improved infrastructure as a catalyst for economic growth.

Shettima described the books by Yusuf Ali, focusing on the Supreme Court’s jurisprudence on the right to a fair hearing and essential guidelines for stakeholders in PPP, as valuable contributions to legal knowledge and the country’s pursuit of development.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwola, the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Ganduje.
