Saraki Grants 100 Students Four-Year Scholarships and Donates Millions to Muhammad Kamalud-Deen University

Former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has extended a significant gesture towards education by awarding a four-year full scholarship to 100 students at Muhammad Kamalud-Deen University in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The announcement was made during the official commissioning of the private university owned by the Ansar-ul-Islam Society of Nigeria.

In a statement by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, it was revealed that Saraki’s generous contribution amounted to N140 million, facilitating the four-year full scholarship for the selected student beneficiaries.

Additionally, he made another substantial donation of N26 million to support various infrastructural projects at the university.

Speaking about his commitment to the project, Saraki emphasized its personal significance as a son of Ilorin, Baba Adini of Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, and the Waziri Ngeri of the Ilorin Emirate.

The university holds a special place in his heart, not only for the legacy of Sheikh Kamalud-Deen but also for the collective impact it can have on the Ilorin Emirate community.

“This commissioning is a great project for every son and daughter of the Emirate, not only for the legacy of Sheikh Kamalud-Deen but for what we can do as Ilorin Emirate community,” Saraki expressed.

He further emphasized the societal importance of the project, stating, “It is a project for society, and that’s why it’s our project. That is why I have been playing my role since it started in 2005 until today.”

Muhammad Kamalud-Deen University was established by the late Sheikh Muhammad Kamalud-Deen Al-Adaby, the first Grand Mufti of Ilorin and founder of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria.

The university stands as a testament to the commitment towards education and community development.
