The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed commendation for President Bola Tinubu’s instrumental role in mediating the protracted crisis within the Ondo State Government.

The conflict, which has persisted between factions loyal to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, saw a crucial intervention from Tinubu last Friday.

Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary, lauded President Tinubu’s leadership skills during an appearance on Thursday’s edition of Channels Television’s Politics Today.

Morka emphasized the significance of the President’s involvement, noting that previous leaders might have remained indifferent to such state-level disputes.

According to Morka, Tinubu’s proactive approach to resolving internal conflicts within the party and the country showcases his commitment to effective leadership.

He cited a recent instance where opposition governors acknowledged and commended President Tinubu for his intervention in the tension-laden situation involving Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor Nyesom Wike, both of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Describing Tinubu as a vigilant leader, Morka underscored the President’s awareness and responsiveness to national developments since assuming office on May 29.

He highlighted that Tinubu, as the APC leader and Commander-in-Chief of the nation’s armed forces, acted appropriately in addressing the tensions within the Ondo State government.

Following Tinubu’s meeting with Ondo stakeholders, positive outcomes are surfacing, as Deputy Governor Aiyedatiwa recently presided over a State Executive Council meeting in Akure, the state capital.

This development comes after Governor Akeredolu continued his stay in Oyo State, indicating progress in resolving the prolonged discord between the executive and legislative arms in Ondo.
