The North East chapter of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has reiterated the expulsion of Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, citing internal discord and holding him responsible for the party’s recent challenges.
This decision was formalized during a gathering of the NNPP North East executive and stakeholders in Bauchi on a recent Friday.
A communique released after the meeting affirmed the stakeholders’ stance, declaring Kwankwaso’s expulsion due to his alleged role in fostering internal strife within the party.
The NNPP North East also addressed the recent setback faced by the party and Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, following an adverse ruling by the Appeal Court, which nullified Yusuf’s election, citing irregularities in the vote count.
Despite the legal setback, the NNPP North East leadership expressed unwavering support for Governor Yusuf.
They called upon party members and supporters nationwide to extend their “maximum support and prayers” to the embattled leader.
The communique, delivered by NNPP National Vice Chairman North, Dr Babayo Liman, confirmed the dissolution of the Abba Kawu Ali-led National Working Committee.
It also conveyed a vote of confidence in the party’s founder and life member of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Boniface Aniebonan.
Furthermore, the North East NNPP reaffirmed the election of Dr. Tope Aluko as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Engr. Mohammed Babayo Abdullahi as Secretary.
