Chukwuebuka also detailed APC’s plans to become a grassroots progressive party.

An assertive declaration by the All Progressives Congress (APC) promises a resolute campaign to unseat the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the upcoming 2025 governorship election in Anambra State.
At a meeting with stakeholders in Anambra on December 2, APC chieftain Obidike Chukwuebuka voiced confidence in the party’s ability to wrest control from APGA, which has governed the state for over 16 years without substantial development.
Chukwuebuka particularly lauded Senators Ifeanyi Uba and Uche Ekwunife, expressing optimism about their leadership propelling the APC to new heights in Anambra State.
The APC stalwart highlighted the challenges faced by Anambra, leading to dissatisfaction and internal discord that has hindered the party’s electoral success in the state.
Asserting the impending decline of APGA in Anambra, Chukwuebuka pointed to Senator Ifeanyi Uba’s past achievements.
Uba, who was initially elected as a Senator under the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in 2019 and secured re-election in the 2023 polls, has demonstrated resilience in securing victories for the YPP, including three House of Assembly seats.
Regarding Senator Uche Ekwunife, recognized for her hard work, Chukwuebuka highlighted her political legacy in Anambra. Ekwunife’s popularity and success in the 2019 general election, winning a Senate seat for the second time, underscored her political influence in the state.
Chukwuebuka concluded by outlining the APC’s strategic plans to transform into a grassroots progressive party, fostering active engagement among members.
The party aims to institutionalize progressive ideology in Anambra’s political landscape, differentiating itself from others primarily focused on capturing power.
