During the Silver Anniversary celebration of the 11th Emir of Jama’a, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammad Isa Muhammad (CON), the Sultan of Sokoto, Dr. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, urged justice for the victims of the recent military airstrikes in Tudun Biri village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Sultan expressed his commitment to pushing for justice for the lives lost in the tragic incident, emphasizing the need for accountability.
The military airstrikes, which claimed over 100 lives, have sparked national concern and calls for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Sultan Abubakar stated that the pursuit of justice for the victims is paramount, and he pledged to continue advocating for a fair resolution of the matter.
Responding to the Sultan’s demand for justice, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, expressed regret over the unfortunate incident.
General Musa assured that the military would take serious actions to prevent such occurrences in the future, and he highlighted that President Bola Tinubu has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.
In his address, the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, who also serves as the Chairman of the Council of Chiefs and Emirs in Kaduna State, stressed the importance of unity for peace in Southern Kaduna.
He emphasised the need for traditional rulers to be constitutionally recognized, citing their close connection to grassroots communities.
