Reno Omokri Pointsout PDP’s Critical Misstep in 2023 Election

Renowned sociopolitical activist, Reno Omokri, has pinpointed what he believes to be the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) crucial blunder during the 2023 presidential election.

Omokri asserts that the failure to nominate Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, as the vice presidential candidate was a significant misjudgment.

According to Omokri, selecting Wike as the vice presidential candidate could have led to victory for the PDP in key states such as Oyo, Abia, Rivers, Enugu, and Benue.

The sociopolitical commentator emphasized that the margin of defeat to President Bola Tinubu was less than two million votes.

In a candid post on X, Omokri expressed his conviction that Wike’s strong personality and influence would have resonated positively in these crucial states, potentially swaying the outcome in favor of the PDP.

He highlighted the strategic importance of making decisions in politics based on necessity rather than personal preferences.

Omokri stated, “In politics, you do not do what you like to do. You do what you have to do.”

He acknowledged that under normal circumstances, a figure with Wike’s assertiveness might seem unsuitable for a supporting role, but the political landscape demands strategic choices for optimal outcomes.

While reflecting on the electoral dynamics, Omokri urged a pragmatic approach, emphasizing that critical decisions should be aligned with the goal of securing victory.

The activist’s observations indicate a recognition of the pivotal role personalities and regional influence can play in determining electoral success.
