Nigerian Senators Contribute N109 Million Salaries to Drone Mishap Victims in Kaduna

In a humanitarian gesture, Nigerian senators have collectively donated one month’s worth of salaries, totaling N109 million, to the victims of the military drone mishap that occurred on December 3 in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The tragic incident resulted in the accidental killing of 85 civilians who had gathered for a religious celebration in the community.

The announcement of the donation was made by Mr. Ismail Mudashir, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Barau Jibrin, on Sunday in Abuja.

Sen. Barau conveyed the senators’ heartfelt sympathies during a visit to the Kaduna State Government House, where the delegation commiserated with the state government and the affected community.

Sen. Barau expressed the senators’ commitment to providing support to the victims and announced the donation, which will be channelled through Gov. Uba Sani. The funds are intended for the benefit of those affected by the unfortunate incident.

The Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, conveyed his gratitude to the senators for their compassionate gesture, acknowledging the importance of collective efforts in aiding the victims and their families.

The delegation, which included prominent senators such as Sen. Micheal Bamidele, Sen. Ali Ndume, Sen. Abba Moro, Sen. Kamorudeen Olalere, and others, also visited the Barau Dikko Hospital.

At the hospital, they interacted with survivors of the drone mishap who were undergoing treatment.
