Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has announced the party’s plan to establish a National Institute of Progressive Studies as part of its initiatives for 2024. He made this known while speaking to State House Correspondents following a visit of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos.

Ganduje explained that the institute would play a crucial role in promoting democratic values among party members and the general public. It aims to educate individuals on democratic principles, internal democracy, the avoidance of hate speech, and adherence to election laws and processes. Additionally, the institute will collaborate with the government to develop policies that foster a conducive democratic environment.

In addition to the institute, Ganduje revealed that the APC would commence e-registration of both existing and new members to create a comprehensive database for better party management. He expressed confidence that under the new administration of Tinubu and his cabinet, Nigerians would experience increased dividends of democracy.

Looking ahead, Ganduje emphasized the APC’s commitment to expanding its reach across the country, aiming to secure more states, National Assembly seats, and state assembly memberships. He noted that the visit to President Tinubu’s residence was to celebrate the Christmas festivities, extend New Year greetings, and offer condolences on the passing of two prominent political figures.
