Lagos Police Arrest Two Suspects in Connection with Fatal Beating Over Alleged Car Door Theft

The Lagos State Police have apprehended two individuals in connection with the fatal beating of a man over an alleged car door theft. According to Police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin, the arrest followed a report from the deceased’s widow, who reported the incident at the Iponri Police Division.
The widow recounted that she received a call while at home, informing her that her husband was being assaulted. The assailants accused him of stealing two car doors. Upon reaching the scene, she discovered her husband in a pool of blood, and the attackers had taken him away in a tricycle. Sadly, she later learned that her husband had passed away en route to the hospital, and his body was abandoned in the tricycle.
In response to the report, the Divisional Police Officer at Iponri deployed detectives who swiftly arrested two suspects, aged 33 and 34 years old, and recovered the victim’s lifeless body. The corpse has been taken to the Mainland General Hospital mortuary in Yaba for autopsy, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
