FCC Chairman Faces Intense Interrogation by EFCC and Police

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is currently questioning Moheeba Farida Dankaka, the Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), regarding an alleged certificate scandal.

According to Sahara Reporters, Dankaka is currently undergoing interrogation at the EFCC Headquarters in Abuja. The EFCC is examining various documents related to forgery and the submission of false information allegedly linked to the FCC Chairman.

An EFCC official quoted in the report confirmed that Dankaka is currently at the EFCC headquarters, cooperating with operatives and providing answers to their inquiries.

Last week, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force also questioned Dankaka in connection with the same case. She reportedly spent over five hours at the Force headquarters in Abuja, where she was interrogated regarding the allegations against her.

The allegations against Dankaka stem from a petition filed by the Youth and Leadership Initiatives, a civil society organisation, in May last year. The petition accused Dankaka of presenting false information to the presidency and the National Assembly in order to secure her position as the chairman of the commission.

The ongoing questioning of Dankaka by both the EFCC and the Nigeria Police Force suggests that the authorities are taking these allegations seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
