President Tinubu Demands Swift Action Following Ibadan Explosion

The recent explosion in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, has sparked concern and demands for action from President Bola Tinubu. The explosion, which occurred on Tuesday night, resulted in the tragic loss of two lives and left around 80 others injured. Numerous buildings, vehicles, and properties were also damaged in the blast.

Expressing his worry over the incident, President Tinubu emphasized the need to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the explosion. He voiced his dismay at reports attributing the cause of the explosion to the activities of illegal miners, describing their actions as inexcusable and reckless. The President urged authorities to swiftly investigate the matter and ensure that the culprits face the consequences of their actions.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu extended his condolences to the government and people of Oyo State. He called upon all relevant government agencies to promptly investigate the circumstances surrounding the explosion and provide necessary assistance to those affected.

Taking proactive steps to address the aftermath of the explosion, President Tinubu directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to collaborate with the Oyo State Government in delivering immediate and comprehensive relief to the victims of the tragedy.

The incident has sparked widespread concern and calls for action, with many expressing shock at the extent of the damage caused by the explosion.
