The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has hailed the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s victory in the March 2023 gubernatorial election as a long-awaited and well-deserved judgment. In a statement issued by Mr. Tunde Oladunjoye, the State APC Publicity Secretary, the party expressed satisfaction with the court’s decision, emphasizing that it upheld the cause of justice.
The statement quoted the party’s Chairman, Yemi Sanusi, as extending congratulations to Governor Abiodun and his Deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, on the landmark judgment by the apex court. The APC lauded the Supreme Court justices for their integrity and bravery in upholding the rulings of the lower courts, affirming that it showcased the judiciary’s commitment to justice.
“We salute the incorruptible and courageous justices of the Supreme Court for upholding the concurrent verdicts of the lower courts. They have shown that truly, justice lies with the judiciary,” stated Oladunjoye.
The party also commended Governor Abiodun and his deputy for their dedication and hard work, describing the judgment as a long-awaited affirmation of their efforts. With the legal battle now concluded, the APC urged the governor and his team to intensify their efforts towards delivering transformational governance in the state.
Additionally, the party called on those who contested the election against Governor Abiodun to put aside their grievances and work together for the progress of Ogun State. They urged the opposition to refrain from divisive politics and instead contribute constructively to the state’s development.
“We also wish to congratulate the good people of Ogun for their steadfastness and support for the APC-led administration in spite of the needless distractions and antics of the opposition,” added Oladunjoye.
