Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has emphasized the need for the prosecution of individuals involved in electoral fraud across Nigeria. In a statewide broadcast on Monday, Governor Fintiri expressed his strong stance against electoral malpractice, stressing that those who willfully engage in such acts must face the consequences.

The governor, still visibly affected by the outcome of the last election where his opponent was declared the winner prematurely, highlighted the importance of upholding the integrity of the electoral process. While acknowledging the unbiased conduct of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in last year’s elections, Governor Fintiri condemned the actions of the suspended resident electoral commissioner, Hudu Ari-Yunusa. Ari-Yunusa was suspended by INEC for prematurely declaring a winner and is currently facing charges for his actions.

Governor Fintiri affirmed his commitment to prosecuting all individuals involved in undermining the electoral process, emphasizing that this is crucial to safeguarding democracy from abuse. He urged unity and cooperation among Adamawa people, emphasizing the need to move forward and focus on the task ahead.

Reflecting on his recent Supreme Court victory, Governor Fintiri expressed gratitude and motivation to serve the people of Adamawa even better. He called on all Adamawa residents to join him in this endeavor, emphasizing the importance of unity, resource pooling, talent integration, and leveraging unique attributes to build a better society.
