Arrests Made in High-Profile Kidnapping Case in FCT

Six members of a kidnapping syndicate allegedly involved in the recent abduction of Joshua Eze in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have been apprehended at a hotel in Bassa Village, Abuja. Among the suspects are Buhari Muhammad, a 20-year-old wanted kidnap kingpin, Muhammad Sabiu, Isah Abdullahi, Hamzat Musa, Fatima Abdullahi, and Zuliat Yusuf. The arrests were made by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the FCT Police Command.

According to a statement released on Monday by SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, the suspects were found in possession of an AK47 rifle, 10 mobile phones, a cash sum of three hundred and forty-five thousand naira, and other valuable items. They have reportedly confessed to their involvement in the abduction of Joshua Eze and other kidnapping incidents in the FCT.

SP Josephine Adeh also confirmed that members of the syndicate were responsible for the abduction of Joshua Eze, whose wife, Blessing Eze, suffered a bullet injury during the abduction on January 27. She was later rescued unharmed by police operatives on January 28.

While the investigation is ongoing, CP Benneth Igweh, the Commissioner of Police for the FCT, has assured the public of his commitment to eradicating criminal activities in the territory. He urged residents to report any suspicious activities to the police.
