First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Assures Nigerians of Better Times Ahead Amidst Hardship as She Launches Young Farmers Club

During a meeting with wives of governors at the presidential villa in Abuja, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu reassured Nigerians that the current hardships would soon be overcome. She expressed optimism for 2024, highlighting prospects for peace, progress, prosperity, and greater achievements for all Nigerians.

Tinubu emphasized the need for collective efforts during challenging times, emphasizing that the current hardship is temporary and will soon pass. She underscored her commitment to complementing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda through her office’s Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

As part of the Women Agricultural Support Programme (WASP) under RHI, Tinubu announced plans to empower 20 farmers each from five states in the South East Zone with N500,000 each. Additionally, a total of N10 million will be allocated to five RHI states’ coordinators.

The National Agricultural Land Development Authority will collaborate with RHI to provide training, capacity building, and agricultural inputs to 80 female farmers from each state. Tinubu also revealed her intention to launch the “Young Farmers Club” in public schools nationwide to promote farming among the youth. Schools with outstanding farms will receive prizes, including renovations, equipping of science laboratories, provision of ICT equipment, and upgrading of libraries.
