President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to travel from Abuja to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Thursday, as announced by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
Tinubu will be attending the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU). The summit’s theme is ‘Educate an African fit for the 21st century: Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa.’
During the summit, the President will participate in high-level meetings on various topics, including institutional reforms of the AU, peace and security, climate change, and the AU’s participation and priorities in the G20.
Additionally, Tinubu will attend an extraordinary summit of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS, in his capacity as the Chairman of the regional body, on the sidelines of the AU summit.
He will be accompanied by ministers and other top government officials on the trip and is expected to return to Abuja at the conclusion of the summit.
