Terrorists Kidnap 61 People in a Fresh Attack in Kaduna State

Suspected terrorists have abducted at least 61 individuals in an attack on the Buda community in Kaduna State’s Kajuru Local Government Area. While the state and police authorities have yet to confirm the incident, a resident disclosed that the bandits raided the village on Monday night, seizing the victims.
According to Dauda Kajuru, a resident of the area, the bandits arrived in the village around 11:45 pm, heavily armed and firing indiscriminately. Their initial plan was to abduct a large number of people similar to the abduction in Kuriga Village, Chikun Local Government Area. However, the quick response of soldiers, located about 2 kilometers away from Kajuru, limited the number of abductions.
Kajuru expressed concern for his siblings among the abducted, stating that as of the latest information, the bandits and their captives had not reached their destination. He highlighted the impact of the removal of an Army Commander, known as Commander Tega, who had previously brought peace to the area.
Another resident, Lawal Abdullahi, who managed to escape the attack, confirmed that 61 individuals, including men, women, and children, were kidnapped. He mentioned that even a nursing mother of two weeks was among the victims.
Residents of the area are now living in fear as banditry activities have reportedly increased since the departure of Commander Tega. They expressed regret over his removal, noting that his presence had significantly reduced the incidence of such attacks and brought a sense of peace to their villages.
