Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has urged Mr Peter Obi to throw his weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a successful presidency. The call was made during Obi’s visit to Sule in Lafia on Monday. Obi, who ran as the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, was encouraged by Sule to utilize his experience, competence, and capacity to support President Tinubu for the overall interest of Nigeria.
Governor Sule emphasized that the elections are over and stressed the importance of Nigerians rallying behind the president to move the nation forward. He noted that while the president has good intentions for the country, he alone cannot address the current challenges it faces. Sule called on well-meaning citizens like Obi to support the president in addressing issues such as insecurity and economic hardship.
Sule commended Obi for his philanthropic efforts, including the drilling of boreholes in some communities in Nasarawa State. He acknowledged that Obi’s gesture has complemented the government’s efforts in alleviating the sufferings of the people. Obi, in turn, expressed his support for Nigerians during Ramadan and commended Sule for the construction of new roads in the state, which has given Nasarawa a new look.
