Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, continued his nationwide tour during the sacred Ramadan season, stopping at the Barkin-Iku Suleja Niger State Central Mosque.
During his visit, Obi provided aid to approximately 100 individuals and broke the Ramadan fast with about 1000 devout Muslims. Additionally, he installed a borehole to provide a reliable source of clean water at the Mosque.
Obi expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to offer aid and share a meal with the Muslim community, emphasizing the importance of unity and compassion during the holy month. He highlighted the core values of his movement, including empathy, inclusivity, and a commitment to uplifting the lives of all citizens.
The Chief Imam of the mosque highlighted the pressing need for clean water in the community, which had been deprived of this basic necessity for over three decades. Obi’s act of support addressed this need and showcased his dedication to improving the welfare of every Nigerian, regardless of creed or background.
The gesture was seen as a symbol of unity and compassion, serving to alleviate immediate challenges faced by the community and demonstrate Obi’s unwavering dedication to the welfare and progress of Nigerians.
