Adeleke Under Fire Over Distribution of Exercise Books in Schools

The governor of Osun State, Sen. Adeleke has received backlash on X app for distributing 40 leaves exercise books to public school students in the state. The post which was made by Sen. Adeleke’s special adviser on education, Mrs. Teniola Lanlehin did not go down well with many users of X app who came across the post and people who seem to have data regarding the abysmal performance of public school students in the state.

With the state of education in Osun state, many argued that government needs to come up with initiatives that have the capacity of improving the quality of education in the state and to create an enabling environment for learning. The education sector in the state is noticeably declining and the idea of distributing exercise books is merely a scratch on the surface.

“Government should face governance, and leave distribution of books and other writing materials for NGOs who are happy to do it” a user said.
