Nigerian Police Arrest Four EFCC Impersonators In Nasarawa For Robbery, Kidnapping

The Nasarawa State Police have apprehended four individuals pretending to be Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives, who were involved in robbery and kidnapping activities. The impostors targeted students at the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa, robbing them and kidnapping a student named Adudu Kingsley. Following a distress call, police pursued the suspects, resulting in a chase that ended with the suspects abandoning their vehicle and the abducted student before fleeing the scene. Unfortunately, one suspect was caught by an angry mob and died from injuries sustained before police intervention.
During a search of the abandoned vehicle, police discovered two identification cards linking the suspects to the criminal syndicate. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of three other members of the group, along with the recovery of stolen items such as smartphones and fake EFCC ID cards. The suspects confessed to terrorizing student areas in Keffi and Nasarawa local government areas.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has assured the public that the arrested suspects will be prosecuted after the conclusion of the investigation. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further examination, as victims have identified the suspects involved in the criminal activities. The police are continuing efforts to apprehend the remaining suspect who is currently at large.
