He emphasized the importance of verifying and authenticating documents, capacity building, and maintaining the Ministry’s representation on the Institute’s Council.
The Institute aims to establish independent laboratories for forensic analysis to ensure impartiality and adherence to scientific protocols in legal cases. Gashinbaki highlighted the need for adequate testing of structures and product specifications to prevent building collapses caused by substandard products.
In summary, the revelation of foreigners attempting to obtain Nigerian passports with fake NINs underscores the importance of identity management in bolstering national security. Efforts to enhance the national identity management system and build domestic capacity for forensic analysis aim to strengthen document integrity and safeguard against fraudulent activities.
