Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) has raised alarm over the plan to frame and arrest former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, the Federal Government on an allegation of organising a protest.

In a tweet on Saturday, the presidential spokeswoman, Bayo Onanuga, claimed that Obi was the driving force behind the planned August 1 nationwide protest against the nation’s poor leadership.

Reacting to the purported claims, the spokesman of Obi media, Dr Yunusa Tanko, in a statement, described the allegation as “wild, wicked and baseless.”

The statement went on to say that the baseless accusations were planned in order to have Obi arrested, to restrict his freedom of association and movement, and to halt his advocacy for good governance, which they believed to be detrimental to their opulent way of life.
