Lagos Dislodges Traders From Under Obalende Bridge

On September 13, 2024, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced that the State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) successfully dismantled illegal trading operations under the Obalende Bridge. This action was part of a broader effort to maintain environmental cleanliness in Lagos.According to Wahab, the operation involved the removal of structures supporting these illegal activities and the confiscation of various items. The enforcement action targeted traders operating beneath the Obalende bridge, near Dodan Barracks. The goal of this crackdown was to enhance environmental management and ensure compliance with state regulations.This intervention reflects Lagos State’s commitment to addressing unauthorized trade practices and maintaining public spaces. The Ministry’s social media update emphasized the importance of these operations in sustaining environmental standards and preventing encroachments.
