BREAKING: Nigerian Petroleum Company, NNPCL Deploys Over 100 Trucks To Dangote Refinery For Sunday’s Fuel Loading
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has mobilized more than 100 trucks to the Dangote Refinery in Lagos State in anticipation of the refinery’s inaugural fuel loading on Sunday, September 15, 2024. The NNPCL made this announcement via a brief statement, which included photos of the trucks stationed at the refinery’s fuel loading facility in Ibeju-Lekki. The company noted that additional trucks are on their way to support the operation.This move follows a recent agreement regarding pricing and supply terms, as announced by Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service and a member of the Presidential Committee on the Sale of Crude Oil and Refined Products. According to Adedeji, NNPCL will be the exclusive purchaser of petrol from the Dangote Refinery, while other marketers will obtain their fuel from NNPCL.Starting October 1, 2024, NNPCL will also supply the Dangote Refinery with 385,000 barrels of crude oil per day, with payments to be made in Naira. This arrangement marks a significant development for the Dangote Refinery, which is anticipated to greatly enhance Nigeria’s fuel production capabilities. The refinery, owned by industrialist Aliko Dangote, has a production capacity of 650,000 barrels per day and is expected to meet local fuel demands and potentially export excess products.The deployment of trucks by NNPCL signifies the beginning of a new phase in Nigeria’s fuel supply chain, reflecting the potential impact of the Dangote Refinery on the country’s oil and gas sector.
