At GovernMEND Nigeria, impact is not abstract. It happens in classrooms, communities, and conversations where young people begin to understand their power as citizens and act on it.
Our engagements focus on political education, voter awareness, mentorship, and building a participatory political culture among young Nigerians.
School Outreach at Ifetedo, Osun State
GovernMEND volunteers from the Faculty of Law, Osun State University, facilitated a civic education outreach at Ifetedo. Students were engaged on civic responsibilities, democratic participation, and the role of young people in governance. Writing materials were distributed to support their learning.
Voter Awareness Outreach in Plateau State
The GovernMEND team visited a public school in Plateau State to sensitize young adults on the dangers of vote selling and the importance of electoral participation. Students were encouraged to obtain their voter’s cards and use them as tools for shaping a better future. Writing materials were distributed to all attendees to reinforce the message.
Participatory Politics Session in Ilesha, Osun State
GovernMEND engaged senior secondary school students in Ilesha on the importance of participatory political culture and active citizenship. Beyond the session, some exceptional students were selected and mentored over a period of time, providing sustained guidance beyond the classroom. Writing materials were also freely distributed.
