Afolayan Cries Out Over High Cost of Food
Due to the high cost of food in the market, a popular Nigerian movie star, Aremu Afolayan, in a viral video circulating on X, has expressed his concern.
Afolayan, while speaking on Thursday, was fuming angrily in the Yoruba language, narrating how a single turkey is now sold for 4000 naira, which is making it difficult for people to survive.
“Turkey is now ₦4,000; things have become unbearable.”The actor alleged that Dangote cement in the market sells for ₦9000 and claimed that in countries around Nigeria he sells it at a cheaper price of ₦1500, equivalent to naira.
“Cement is now ₦9,000, yet Dangote sells it cheaper in other countries.”
He said that the hardship is unbearable and emphasised that the president of the country is from Yorubaland.
“And here we are, suffering under a Yoruba leadership while things keep getting harder.”
Aremu lamented about the periodic increase in the cost of living, which is affecting business in the country.
In a separate video the popular movie duo was seen to have showered praises on the President Bola Tinubu administration for his role in lifting the ban placed on Nigerians by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“When the UAE banned Nigerians from entering their country, it was President Tinubu who went there, met with their president, and helped lift the ban.”
The controversial actor spoke about being comfortable in the face of the country’s economic hardship, saying that he is doing well for himself and that the economy has no effect on him.
“When people say the country is hard, I don’t really care because I’m doing very well.”
