The organisation further stated that investigations conducted during the visit showed that the streetlights currently within the school premises were installed by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and not through the project for which the funds were reportedly disbursed.
The civic group revealed that in the 2025 Niger State budget, a total of ₦457.6 million was allocated for the renovation of the school. It added that the state’s fourth-quarter Budget Implementation Report claimed that ₦400 million, about 87.4 percent of the total allocation, had already been released.
During the visit, Tracka said its team did not find any workers at the construction site. It added that the project site already appeared abandoned, with grasses gradually covering the structure that had been started.
