Teenager queries Ogun governor over bad road, epileptic power supply

A teenage resident of Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State queried the Dapo Abiodun government over the abandonment of the road in the community since 2019 and the poor state of the power supply.

Speaking in a video circulating on X and seen by GOVERNMENDNG on Monday, the young girl said that the road in town has become very bad since 2019.

“Since 2019, that road has been like that, and it has become very bad.”

She also disclosed that the road had been under construction before she gained admission to the secondary school located in Orita, Oja-Odan.

“I go to school, and the school I attend is at Orita at Oja-Odan roadside. Before we even went to school, the road had already been dug up because they said they wanted to repair it.”

The lady alleged that a person who is seriously ill cannot even be transported through that road, and if they attempt to take a sick person across it, the person may die before they reach the other side.

“If they try to carry a sick person through that road before they get across, the person may lose their life.”

Further explained that the electricity supply in the area has become highly irregular, making it difficult for households to carry out daily activities that depend on power. According to her, the community now receives electricity for only a few days a week.

“Out of the seven days in a week, we only have electricity for about two days, just two days to charge. When I charge during those two days, I try to manage it until the next time electricity comes, but it is not easy at all,” she said.
