Under the new structure, the Nigerian Army will operate 12 divisions strategically located across the country. The new formations will be established in Makurdi, Ilorin, Jalingo and Benin City, while existing divisions in Kaduna, Ibadan, Jos, Port Harcourt, Maiduguri, Sokoto, Lagos and Enugu will continue to oversee their designated operational areas.
According to the organisation, the project was allocated ₦30m in the 2024 Federal Government budget for the construction of an examination hall at the school, Tracka said, “N30m was allocated to the construction of an examination hall at Government Comprehensive School, Naka, Benue State, in the 2024 Federal Government budget.”
He also directed that “all persons found culpable be treated strictly in accordance with applicable law.”
Explaining the figures, BudgIT stated: “Between 2022 and 2024, under the Tinubu administration and following the move to a floating exchange rate, nominal GDP fell from $645.68bn to $252.11bn in just two years.”
Obi made the remark on Friday while speaking during a visit to Madonna University in Anambra State, just hours after a Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja vacated its earlier judgment that had directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as a political party
The organisation further stated that investigations conducted during the visit showed that the streetlights currently within the school premises were installed by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and not through the project for which the funds were reportedly disbursed.
According to the petition, protesters had commenced a peaceful march from Mokola and were heading toward Bodija through the University of Ibadan axis when they were attacked by a group of individuals led by Mr. Akinteye Babatunde, popularly known as “Babtee,” the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS); Mr. Victor Olojede, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Students’ Affairs; and one Alimi Yusuf, also known as “Decimal.”
Zamfara State recorded one of the largest single incidents in February 2021 when 317 students were abducted, while Kaduna State witnessed multiple attacks, including the abduction of 287 students in March 2024.
Soweto added that while elections, the judiciary, and other institutions are designed as constitutional avenues for participation, they often remain limited in their capacity to fundamentally alter entrenched power structures.
